Turrialba Region

Location:

Turrialba is an area characterized, due to abundant rain, of early ripening coffee beans. This is influenced by the Atlantic slope and Eastern Central Valley climates. Topography varies in elevation from 600 to 1,400 meters (1,969 – 4,592 feet) and it has an area of 1,642 km² (17,675 ft²). Turrialba is situated 17 kilometers (11 miles) northeast of the volcano of the same name.

Harvest:

Early compared to the rest of the regions, from June to February.

Organoleptic properties:

Turrialba coffee is greatly influenced by rain. It has very special qualities and large beans - mild acidity and strong aroma.
